Andrew McMillan: Remembered

Andrew McMillan has been part of the Northern Territory writing scene forever. Freelance author, initiator of the NT Community Writing Program [forerunner to the NT Writers’ Centre] and patron of the NTWC, Andrew’s writing won awards, documented history, and introduced a whole new (inter)national audience to the literature of the Northern Territory while his administrative roles helped build a local writing community – including his programming of early writers’ festivals.

Andrew went off on a long-term waltz with ‘Jack the Dancer’ on the 28th January 2012, and was buried at Larrimah on March 3.

WordStorm: 2012 celebrates the life of this remarkable man and writer through readings of his work by longtime colleague Rob Hirst (Midnight Oil, The Break) and others at 4.00pm, Sunday 13 May, in Civic Park at the Roma Bar café.
